As the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test – Undergraduate (NEET-UG) results were announced on June 4, chaos erupted all over India. Both students and teachers accused the NTA or the National Testing Agency of being incapable of managing the irregularities in the examination.

Furthermore, this year NEET-UG 2024 experienced allocation of grace marks, mismanagement, and paper leaks.

Huge protests have surged in different parts of the country.

The CEO of Physicswallah, Alakh Pandey, along with other renowned personalities such as YouTuber Dhruv Rathee, journalist Ravish Kumar, Congress Leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister (CM) MK Stalin, intensified the situation.

On June 7, Friday, the NSUI (National Students’ Union of India) with Congress Secretary Vineet Punia, national president Varun Choudhary and in-charge Kanhaiya Kumar held a press conference.

They demanded an investigation monitored by the Supreme Court into the recent irregularities reported in the NEET-UG examination.

What happened until now?

On June 7, the students from Kanpur’s Kakadeo demanded in a protest that without the SC probe, NEET counseling should not occur.

Protests held in Lucknow by the NEET students demanded that the 2024 NEET exam should be canceled.

On June 8, the streets of Varanasi were full of students protesting in Modi’s constituency.

The members of NSUI Madhya Pradesh protested regarding the irregularities faced in the NEET test.

On June 10, the students of Jawaharlal Nehru University called for a demonstration at 10 am at the Ministry of Education, New Delhi.

According to Edexlive, moreover, on the same day, alleging corruption done by NTA, the All-India Students’ Association also participated in an “All India Protest Day.”

At the Ministry of Education, New Delhi, the Students Federation of India (SFI) Delhi, State Committee claimed to only protest at 10 am on June 10.

Kolkata also witnessed protests by students organized at 2 pm from the Gandhi statue, Dufferin Road to the Metro Channel in Esplanade on June 10.

On June 11, students hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut organized a protest march to the DM Office from PL Sharma Road at 10 am.
