In the NEET UG 2024 Scandal, a new picture has come up. Four individuals in Bihar have been apprehended in relation to the leak of the question paper for the test.
The identities of the ones arrested are Sikandar Yadavendu (junior engineer at the Danapur municipal council), Amit Anand, Nitish Kumar, and Anurag Yadav.
All the four individuals confessed that they received and memorized the leaked question paper.
Mastermind Behind The Plan
Notably, Amit Anand was the mastermind behind the entire paper leak process.
The entire nation is in a conundrum witnessing Amit Anand’s confession.
Amit admitted that he leaked the question papers to the candidates.
Furthermore, he took Rs 30–32 lakh from each student for the leaked paper and their answers. This sparked an outage in the entire nation asking for the cancelation of the NEET-UG 2024 examination.
Protests are erupting nationwide.
ABP Live reported that Amit Anand further confessed that the “burnt remains of the question paper and answer sheet were discovered at his residence, solidifying the evidence against him”.
The mastermind revealed that he was a part of similar leaks in the past as well.
Thus, this focuses on the loopholes existing in the system coupled with the corruption taking place in the examination system.
Amit Anand further added that the actual paper of NEET UG 2024 was the same as the leaked paper he received.
All four suspects acknowledged that they memorized the entire question paper a day before the exam when they had received it.
Supreme Court’s Stance
A vacation bench of Justices SVN Bhatti and Vikram Nath asked advocates who represented NTA and the Center that such negligence should be dealt with with strict regulations, reported TOI.
NTA filed a plea seeking the transfer of petitions from various high courts to the Supreme Court. SC also issued a notice for the same. Justice Vikram Nath and his bench have put a stay on different high Courts to proceed further with the NEET UG cases.
Moreover, SC announced that the counseling process should not stop.
