Amid a myriad of controversies, the re-test for the NEET-UG 2024 took place on June 23, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM.
NTA organized the retest for a total of 1563 candidates in six states. However, the results are quite shocking, yet again.
The National Testing Agency said that out of 1563 eligible candidates, only 813 candidates appeared for the re-examination of NEET-UG 2024.
Thus, at least 750 candidates skipped the retest on Sunday who were awarded with grace marks.
The six states in which the re-examination was conducted are Meghalaya, Haryana, Gujarat, Chattisgarh, and Chandigarh.
City Wise Data
602 total students were eligible in Chhattisgarh. However, only 291 candidates appeared for the re-test.
In Haryana, a total of 494 candidates were eligible to appear. However, only 287 appeared for the same.
Meghalaya witnessed 234 total attempts out of 464 candidates, which is 50.43 percent of eligible students.
In Chandigarh, only two students were eligible for retest. However, both of them remained absent.
In the case of Gujrat, only 1 candidate was eligible. Moreover, the candidate appeared for the retest as well.
More About Initial and Re-test of NEET-UG 2024
The re-examination was conducted from 2 pm to 5:20 pm by the National Testing Agency for 1,563 candidates only.
These students were awarded grace marks in the NEET-UG 2024 initial exam to compensate for the time loss at the above six-mentioned centers.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test- Undergraduate examination is conducted every year to provide opportunities for students interested in fields like AYUSH, BDS, MBBS, and any other related courses in private or government institutions.
The initial examination of NEET-UG took place on May 5, 2024, in which more than 24 lakh candidates appeared. The results for the same were out on June 4.
However, a re-examination was conducted by NTA due to many allegations of question paper leaks and other irregularities in states such as Haryana and Bihar.
