Fans are also deriding the BCCI for giving more importance to the India-Pakistan match in comparison to other matches. The Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad has a capacity of 132,000 spectators and BCCI will be selling additional tickets.
BCCI has been on the firing line for mismanagement of sales of tickets. However, the ultimate act that really incensed the cricket fans was that there was no opening ceremony for the first match of the biggest tournament of cricket. However, now the BCCI has announced that Bollywood singer Arijit Singh will be performing in the match between India and Pakistan.
Fans are angry at the BCCI for giving preferential treatment to this match. “Yes, the match is a blockbuster but it does not mean that other matches must be neglected” most netizens react. The match will also feature well-known Bollywood singer Sukwinder Singh also.

Also, a trend that is sweeping social media is the calls to boycott the India-Pakistan match because of Pakistan’s support for terrorism. Fans are also incensed by the royal welcome which has been accorded to the Pakistani players on their arrival in India for the ICC World Cup 20232.
India has already played two matches which they have won with ease. India defeated Australia by 6 wickets while it pulverized Afghanistan by 8 wickets. The star of the match against Australia was Virat Kohli and K.L. Rahul. India was once three down for only two runs on the Board. However, both Virat and Rahul made a valiant comeback and helped India register an easy victory.
